I just watched this movie last night and was so moved and inspired that I am actually shifting my original intentions for this morning to comment on it! (Proverbs 19:21) 😮 As a daughter of God, loving and supportive wife, and mommy of three little ones, that’s big for me (more about Intentional Zoe)! So needless to say, I think the post is worth a read 😉
About Time was released in 2013 and features Rachel McAdams and Domhnall Gleeson who were totally endearing. I also enjoyed hearing Margot Robbie’s original Aussie accent!
In the movie, young Tim, discovers the family secret that their men can travel back in time and change aspects of their own life. I thought it was really great how in this movie, Tim uses his particularly powerful gift with deep intentionality to… SPOILER ALERT!–>
…………… Last chance! I’m Going To Give Something Away Here friends …
OK, you’re still here! Green light to go on.
He starts off with the intention to use his discovered talent to get a girlfriend, which is the cutest part of the movie for me. I mean… he can TRAVEL IN TIME!
Yet throughout the film, he uses the gift, time and time again, to ultimately build a solid marriage and fulfilling family life. He goes on to prioritize it, protect it, sometimes even forsaking his personal desires and attachments prior to gaining this new abundant wealth of a loving wife and children.
Along the way, he discovers the all too true notion that one must choose to enjoy each and every aspect of every day as “if you had intentionally gone back to relive that very day.” ~ Tim (About Time 2013).
Just Loved it!!!
I recommend About Time on a nice little date night! It’s a sweet movie, and again ultimately about marriage and family, which as we all know, I’m all about!
You can currently rent it on Amazon Video (for $2.99) or it’s also currently (and of course temporarily) on FXNow. Enjoy, and may it also inspire you to relish in the value of Marriage and Family!

“He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.” (Proverbs 18:22)
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.” (Psalm 127:3-5)
I’d love to know if you watched it and liked it too. Have you watched any other movies lately that have inspired you for Marriage and Family? Go ahead share! You never know who you will influence to become intentional… and who will in turn influence YOU!
